My Road Trip - 2nd Day IDAHO & UTAH

Its the next day and our travels began early on the adventure highway, but first, we have to make a coffee run for the adults joining me. For me, a Chai Latte. Everything is so big in the states, even bigger than the Calgary Cowboy size. Mine Chai went down very smoothly and quickly; very yummy too!!!

Our next stops were Idaho and Utah. I love travelling because the scenery is so different. Sometimes, on one side of the road it would be like a desert and on the other side it was green like a carpet. I thought this was pretty cool.

Hey Pen Pals:

Wow!!! This has been such a cool experience these past 3 weeks which has not given me a lot of time for updating. So sorry for the delay if you haven't heard from me in a while. It has been fun, exciting, and full of action-packed days.

How have you all been? Time to put on the thinking caps and plug into the information outlet - school! lol

Our journey started out from Calgary on August 15, 2008. We headed south through Montana and something incredible happened. Have you ever seen a white Deer, I did? That night it was the biggest brightest moon ever!!! It lit up the whole highway that we could see everything. We came around the corner and right in the middle of the road was this incredible Deer. It was very beautiful, but not very smart standing in the middle of the road. Didn't its mom ever teach it that they shouldn't play in the middle of traffic, they could get hurt, you know!!

Good thing there were no other cars coming behind us. It was us, and this Deer. We honked but it just stood there staring at us like we were having a contest or something. Finally, after the 7th honk of the horn, it decided to trot away into the moonlight. The strangest thing to this story was that it vanished right in front of our eyes. No kidding.

It was like having a Guardian Angel around us protecting us on our trip. Our stop for the night was in a beautiful little hotel near the IDAHO border...

I am heading down to LA again as I have been blessed with the opportunity of being a guest speaker at the HUB "Awakening Your Brilliance" Conference in LA. Bed & Breakfast Hot Spots in Calgary, AB

Have you ever stayed at a Bed & Breakfast? I haven't until recently. Hotels like the Marriott have always been my thing until I stayed in a B & B. I didn't realize how awesome they were. I would highly recommend them to anyone who loves to feel that they are really in a home away from home. While I was here in Calgary during Stampede and shortly after, I had the opportunity of staying in two awesome ones. They were "Hughe's House Bed & Breakfast" www.hugheshouse.ca.

It is incredible how time has passed by so quickly since my last blog entry in late June 2008. My list has been very full and sometimes overflowing like a water fountain that time has evaporated, so to speak. I know this will be a long blog, however, I want to catch everyone up with what I have been doing.

In early July we have the most awesome celebration called the "Calgary Stampede." How many of you know of any city that gets together with people that come to visit from all over the world for one big community party? Yup!! The other neat thing is that the entire city celebrates every day for 10 days straight. There are free pancake breakfasts for everyone at different locations throughout my great city. They serve up yummy pancakes, sausages, bacon, eggs, baked beans...(each breakfast has something a bit different) coffee and juice.

While you wait in very long lines (not to worry the lines go by quickly and you are entertained the entire time), people from various stores, radio stations, newspapers etc. will be handing you a lot of great free gifts each day. I was lucky that I was wearing my real cowgirl hat because anyone who wore theirs got even more prizes (the paper cowboy hats don't count, sorry!)

There are many events going on throughout the city however, the main shows are right on the Stampede grounds where they have a ton of places serving up great food and drinks. Some of my favourites were the poutine, fresh squeezed lemonade and their famous mini-donuts.

They have many shows to keep you entertained such as the rodeo, chuckwagon races, singers, dancers and much, much more. Also, you can visit the different exhibits throughout the park, and watch the late show full of fantastic entertainment and the evening fireworks. You have to see it to believe it!!

Next year the Calgary Stampede takes place from July 3 to 12, 2009. You can find more information on their website at cs.calgarystampede.com.

Marianne Williamson (Nelson Mandella) Inspirational Message

Nelson Mandela has been given many credits for this powerful message but, it was actually written in a letter from Marianne Williamson to Oprah Winfrey. For many of you who don't know, Marianne is Oprah's "guru", and Oprah is an individual I view as one of my mentors.

Pursuing Your Dreams

Philanthropy Project and ADLC BBQ

Hello Again:

Sorry for the delay on the blog, as it has been a super busy and exciting month with my traveling between Toronto, LA, and Calgary. I have been busy networking with an organization called "HUB" regarding my personal philanthropy project called Project Rags To Riches, also known as "PRTR." I encourage everyone to visit their website at http://www.hubhub.org. About two weeks ago I was on a conference call with the Founder, Charlie and other members of the HUB Team. I am really excited about us working together because it is a great organization.

Recently, I had the opportunity of meeting some of my teachers personally at the year-end BBQ. I have been home-schooled for the past couple of years and I didn't really get the chance to meet my teachers until now. I had an absolute blast. The food was very delicious; we had a treasure hunt and built bird houses to provide homes for the many birds in the area.

Dear Friends:

I have had an amazing 4 days in San Diego and returned to Hollywood late yesterday for a project I am filming on Friday and Saturday. I toured around Seal Beach, Huntington Beach, Disney Town, the Crystal Cathedral, and went to an incredible restaurant on the pier called Ruby's. I loved their old fashioned thick milkshakes. They reminded me of the yummy shakes at Peter's Drive-In in Calgary, AB. I walked along the pier and saw the cutest little seal swimming around, while people were fishing. If I could have taken him home, I would have.

Yesterday, was my regular weekly training session with Sharon which was awesome as always. I spent some quality time with friends both new and old. Today, I was at our favourite cafe and had the opportunity of chatting with Montel Williams. He is extremely down to earth and very kind. I really enjoyed meeting him because I watched his show a lot.
